A pneumatic valve positioner is mounted on a pneumatic control valve to provide precise positioning. When used in conjunction with the control valve, the positioner incorporates a double-acting pneumatic actuator, ensuring reliable operation and maintaining high efficiency. Owing to its excellent performance and functionality, it has found extensive application in various automation fields.
During operation, a pneumatic valve positioner converts electrical signals into pressure signals and then uses these pressures to compress gases, thereby providing regulation for industrial furnaces. By adjusting the valve, output power can be increased, while the stem’s travel speed and the valve’s linearity are also enhanced. As a result, any imbalance in the valve stem is effectively addressed, ensuring accurate positioning during operation.
The operating principle of a pneumatic valve positioner is based on the torque balance principle. As the signal pressure increases, the main lever moves, causing the nozzle-flapper assembly to shift closer to the nozzle. This, in turn, exerts pressure on the diaphragm chamber, which drives the valve stem downward. Subsequently, through a series of motions involving the feedback lever, feedback cam, and roller, the feedback spring is stretched, ultimately establishing a state of force equilibrium and bringing the instrument into balance.
