Smart valve positioners are a critical component of automated control systems widely used in industries such as oil and chemical processing. With the expansion of production scale and the increasing level of automation in these sectors, smart control systems have been continuously refined, leading to the ever-wider adoption of smart valve positioners.
The primary advantage of smart valve positioners over conventional ones is their superior positioning accuracy, which is also one of the key reasons for the high control precision of smart valve positioning systems. In addition, smart valve positioners are equipped with a microprocessor that differs from those in conventional models; this microprocessor compares the setpoint with the actual valve-position electrical signal, enabling it to detect even the tiniest deviations. Upon detecting such deviations, the smart valve positioner activates a switching algorithm to control the piezoelectric valve, thereby regulating the airflow into the actuator’s air chamber.
Secondly, the smart valve positioner employs the more advanced Hall–strain gauge effect principle, which not only enables precise monitoring of valve travel but also eliminates backlash in the feedback loop, thereby enhancing measurement accuracy. At the same time, the smart valve positioner supports configuration, allowing users to easily set valve characteristic curves tailored to specific application requirements. By incorporating advanced technologies such as pneumatic amplifiers and piezoelectric valves, the device significantly reduces air consumption and improves the response time of the piezoelectric valve; once the valve is properly positioned, its air consumption is minimal—so low as to be virtually negligible.
