On July 12, 2017, grid fluctuations caused water ingress into the air supply of the secondary cooling water control valve for No. 2 continuous caster at the First Steelmaking Plant, resulting in damage to the valve and widespread failures of 40 FISHER positioners. After comprehensive consideration by the Control & Instrumentation Company of Wuhan Iron & Steel, a subsidiary of Baowu Group, TORLEO valve positioners were ultimately selected for on-site retrofitting of the FISHER positioners. Upon receiving the notification, our company promptly dispatched personnel to the First Steelmaking Plant to conduct on-site surveying and mapping. In view of the highly variable installation configurations of the positioners to be retrofitted, we custom-manufactured mounting brackets tailored to the specific site conditions and arranged for the Production Department to expedite inventory preparation, thereby securing valuable time for the plant’s operational recovery.
